This home is a hybrid where the public areas are fully timbered, while the children's bedrooms and utility spaces are constructed from insulated concrete forms.  The master bedroom is located in the upstairs loft.  The use of dimension lumber floor joists running perpendicular to the timbered floor joists creates a plumbing chase for the ensuite bathroom, and also improves acoustic insulation between floors.
